Job DescriptionFleet Deckhand - Wickliffe, KYThis is a full-time, non-exempt level position.Shift- 12 hours rotating shiftPay- $263/day Position Summary:ADM is seeking a laborer to work as a deckhand under the direction of a Captain on a tug boat at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) fleeting location in Wickliffe, KY.Job Responsibilities: General housekeeping and upkeep of the vessel, including washing, chipping, painting, and cleaningTow work, including building rigging, and building tow for LineboatsFleet work, including preparing barges for delivery to local customersAssisting barge cleaners, mechanics, and welders may also be requiredAssist the captain with required vessel reports in compliance with environmental, safety and USCG regulations and report any problems or damageReport all injuries, illnesses, and near misses in a timely mannerAdditional duties and responsibilities as required or requestedJob Requirements: Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under the supervision of captain or mateInland waterway decking experience preferred, but not requiredReading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documentsAbility to work in a flexible schedule; must allow for changes in assignments, and priorities depending upon identified needs of the vesselAbility to work well independently as well as part of a teamMust be able to work in all types of climatesPromote the ADM Way and core ValuesMust have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and proceduresAbility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and Holidays Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card required. If you do not have a TWIC card upon hire, you must apply for one within 5 daysPhysical Requirements: Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and company human performance exam (physical ability test)Standing for prolonged periods of timeFrequent heavy liftingProlonged periods of kneeling, bending and climbing stairs/laddersAbility to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spacesADM requires the successful completion of a background check. REF:113399BRBase pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
